I want to see the quality of life of every human being around the world continue to improve.

AI is driving the largest productivity boost humanity has ever seen. Let’s do some napkin math:

If a new model generation saves the average worker a new 2 hours a day

And there are 100 million workers using this model now

100 mil users * 250 days a year * 2 hrs a day = 50 BILLION hours

And that’s not even accounting for even more users and use cases, as well as agentic teams (agents managing more agents)

Unlike what you here online, AI is not just being used to improve your Facebook feed. Companies are paying for it to provide real industrial value to the economy. It touches every industry.

AI is being used to speed up data analysis in science and medical labs significantly. It is recognizing patterns in data we have never seen before. It is writing code at 100x, 1000x times faster than what a human can. It is building models that place robots where humans once were that are doing dangerous jobs. It is saving thousands of lives with autonomous vehicles.

Ultimately, it is speeding up advancements in health and safety that significantly reduce human suffering. I want to wilt and die without physical and financial pain. Models are helping us get there faster than any technology ever has before.

Risks

Yes, AI has doomsday risks. Yes, it will take away jobs. How about we manage those in politics, rather than shutting down progress altogether? Yes, the most advanced models are dangerous weapons that need and can be controlled. But does that mean we should stop building out the datacenters that are going to power the millions of less-powerful, less-dangerous models doing work to advance technology every day? No.

Yes, they might raise utility rates. But we can manage that at a national level and through targeted policies. Again, we do not need to shut down the whole thing.

Solve the problems we want to solve. Don’t kneecap unrelated progress.

People who are not helping

Bernie Sanders

Elizabeth Warren

State legislatures

More Perfect Union

Competition

If 2029 comes around, and we end up with legislatures who are even more against AI development, what will that mean for America’s future?

One where China outputs 10x more research than America does every day?

One where China significantly leads the world in medical technology, manufacturing, space, computing, energy, and agriculture?

We should continue to remain at the forefront. Not only to continue to improve our standard of living, but continue to remain a liberal refugee that values all humans equally.

The anti-datacenter rhetoric in left politics in America is distressing.
